Marinades and Dressings
"Never eat more than you can lift" - Miss Piggy
Creamy Greek Feta Dressing - Wonderful tangy dressing for a green salad or vegetable salad with zucchini, eggplant and sweet onions. Makes a lovely sandwich/gyro topping with grilled chicken, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion. Also makes a fantastic couscous or pasta salad sauce!
Honey and Mustard Marinade - One of the best choices for our fresh island fish. Just an hour or two (tops) on your fish before grilling or broiling and your dinner will have a slightly sweet, lemony~tangy coating that complements the incredible flavors of our local fish. Fabulous with chicken too.
Mango Vinaigrette - Our fresh mangoes paired with island style spices will help you create a salad to remember. Good on everything from a green salad, a fish/chicken/tofu salad, or a light, healthy grain salad with chopped fruit and nuts. Or try a combo!
Mojo Citrus Marinade - One of our families all time favorites. Orange and lime, lots of garlic and spices, with a hint of heat, some of the best things in life. In cool weather it is made with cilantro, during the summer when it is too hot to grow cilantro we use cumin. Both versions are fantastic on beef, fish, shrimp, chicken, and tofu.
Creamy Honey Ginger Dressing - Asian style creamy dressing loaded with ginger and garlic that tastes fabulous on green salads, on grilled meat or on rice bowls filled with your favorite meat and/or vegetables.
Creamy Mac Nut Pesto Sauce - Fresh Kauai grown basil, parsley and chives makes our pesto super flavorful, add in Hawaiian Mac Nuts and it is divine. You can't beat fresh pesto for the best fish salads, and naturally as a pasta or bruschetta topping.
Island Piri Piri Sauce - Island style citrus sauce with fresh herbs and a kick of heat for those who love it. Use as a sauce over cooked fish or shrimp or as a marinade for steak, chicken, fish or tofu.
Honey Ginger Teriyaki Sauce - Ginger, garlic, soy sauce, green onions and local honey - a classic. Teriyaki is so much better when it is made fresh, and it is a versatile sauce you can use anywhere, for just about anything.
Romesco Mac Nut Spread - Tomatoes, smokey paprika, bell peppers, garlic and macadamia nuts make this classic Spanish sauce feel right at home in the islands. Not your usual sauce, this spread is fabulous as a dip for pupus, on top of eggs, served with meat, or mix a spoonful in your favorite dressings. Quite addictive.
Honey Balsamic Ginger Sauce - For a seriously delicious twist on our teriyaki sauce, we take our core recipe and add balsamic vinegar. A must try marinade for whatever protein you like to eat - chicken, beef, fish, tofu, it's all good.
Garlic and Chive Yogurt Dip - Creamy yogurt mixed with fresh chives and other herbs, delicious with fresh vegetables and crackers. And the kids love it too!
Creamy Wasabi Lime Sauce - Creamy and cool, with that fabulous wasabi taste! This is our number one favorite sauce for us and our customers. It is wonderful to top grilled fish, as a dip for sushi or vegetables, spice up and cool down a rice bowl.
Lilikoi Vinaigrette - A refreshingly light vinaigrette with fresh (purple) lilikoi, spices and a touch of honey. This dressing goes well with any and all fish salads and sandwiches, fruit salads, veggie salads. We love to eat rice bowls, and this dressing pairs well with a simple bowl of rice, delicious sweet Hawaiian onions, cucumbers and avocados - optional: add a little chopped fish, chicken or pork if you like too.
